This is one of the most exposed sections of this hike. It normally takes one hour to get back to MachuPicchu Ruins (top left on this picture). There is a vertical elevation loss of 1,000 ft./300 m. meters to the ruins and 2,100 ft./700 m. to the river at the base of the valley.
Unforgettable moments: Silence at high altitude (13,400 ft / 4,000 meters), the only existing sounds are: The wind from the snowcapped mountains and alpacas grasping "ichu" grass as we walk.
